Alexandre Achour is a second-generation Algerian Jewish immigrant, born in France in 1982 and currently based in Berlin. He works as a choreographer and performer in the fields of contemporary art, disability arts, and art education.
His artistic practice explores Arturo Escobar’s decolonial concept of the pluriverse by developing choreographic frameworks that explore the weaving of worlds, as well as poetics of togetherness, interdependence, and relationality. In his ongoing research, he draws on Live Action Role-Playing Games (larp) to design immersive structures where co-creation, choreography, and world-building converge. He coined the term Choreographic Game to describe his interest in creating temporary performative spaces that invite the coexistence of diverse aesthetics and subjectivities.
