Anna Wohlgemuth

Anna Wohlgemuth is a stage designer and doctoral candidate at the University of Art and Design Linz in collaboration with Zurich University of the Arts, focusing on visual storytelling and worlding history in visual media, theater, film, and installations.

She collaborates with Franz-Xaver Mayr, Korbinian Schmidt, and Martina Berther on productions such as Gletscher Requiem, Das Gewitter (Theater Neumarkt Zurich), Als die Götter Menschen waren (Invitation to the Authors' Days at DT Berlin 2024), Der Revisor (Nationaltheater Mannheim), 2x241 Titel doppelt so gut wie Martin Kippenberger (Theater Heidelberg), and Leichter Gesang (Deutsches Theater Berlin). She also works with Teresa Vittucci on Sane Satan, Doom, and WE BODIES (Kampnagel Hamburg, Tanzhaus Zürich, research trip to Iceland), as well as with Piet Baumgartner on EWS – der einzige Politthriller der Schweiz (Theater Neumarkt Zurich, Swiss Theatre Award 2022).

Her stage design for Portrait einer geraden Linie (ZHdK) was presented in a solo exhibition at Kunstverein Friedrichshafen in 2018. She has received the Theater Prize of Zurich University of the Arts and the Roman Clemens Prize. Since 2020, she has complemented her artistic practice as a research associate at the Institute for the Performing Arts and Film (ZHdK).
